Bail has been set at $2 million for the truck driver who allegedly led police on chase that ended in a deadly crash.
Investigators say Danny Burnam refused to stop for police on North Broad and Elizabeth avenues Saturday morning. Burnam instead sped off hitting at least eight parked cars along Newark Avenue.
Police say Burnam then struck a car as it was turning into a supermarket parking lot. A passenger inside that car was killed and two others were injured. The occupants have not been identified.
When the 57-year-old drove through a police barricade, two Elizabeth officers fired at Burnam, hitting him at least once. He was taken into custody.
Burnam is charged with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide and reckless aggravated assault.
