Police say a driver lost consciousness before crashing into an Eagleswood restaurant, killing herself and another adult.
Officials say 54-year-old Patty Rulon, of Manahawkin, lost consciousness and slumped over the steering wheel with her foot on the accelerator. Her car then crossed into the southbound lane of Route 9 and hit Callaway’s Restaurant.
The incident happened on Wednesday at around 3:10 p.m.
According to police, Rulon and 91-year-old Albert Rulon, of Tuckerton, died as a result of the crash.
Officials say two others, including the driver’s 15-year-old son, were injured in the accident.
