(06/27/06) WEST ORANGE ? Transportation officials hope a stoplight plan will help ease the daily commute for frustrated drivers along Route 10 in Morris and Essex counties.
Motorists say Route 10 is a torturous stretch of road, especially during rush hour, because of its many stoplights. According to drivers, horrendous traffic often makes for a terrible commute. However, transportation officials hope to ease some of that congestion with a plan to synchronize all of the stoplights this summer from Roxbury to West Orange.
According to transportation officials, the plan will shave about four minutes off the commute each way. While that won?t exactly make driving Route 10 during rush hour a breeze, drivers say they?ll take whatever help they can get.
