‘DMS bout to turn into Columbine’: HS freshman charged after threatening violence to middle school

A student from Franklin Township has been charged after threatening violence at the district's middle school over a Snapchat post, where they also mentioned Columbine.

A student from Franklin Township has been charged after threatening violence at the district's middle school over a Snapchat post, where they also mentioned Columbine.
Police recovered multiple reports of a possible threat Sunday around 11:45 p.m. to Delsea Regional Middle School.
According to police, the student, only identified as a Delsea Regional High School freshman, posted a picture of a disassembled gun in a private group on Snapchat, saying, “DMS bout to turn into Columbine."

Police tracked down the student responsible, and say there was no threat.
Police say the weapon used in the Snapchat post was an air soft gun that the suspect was not in possession of.

Police did not release the suspect's name due to his age.
The student will be charged with making terroristic threats and causing false public alarm.
