Take an adventure beyond the sea all while staying indoors at Sea Life Aquarium at American Dream mall in East Rutherford.

For this week’s Road Trip: Close to Home, News 12 visited the aquarium where families can go on an underwater adventure that’s both educational and fun.

Families can experience the underwater ocean tunnel, witness different kinds of sea life and can even touch animals like starfish and live plants. Sealife curator Rich Weedle says it’s especially fun for kids.

The aquarium is open all week with extended hours on weekends.
