Discounted NJ Transit passes offered ahead of summer repairs
New Jersey Transit is gearing up for Amtrak’s summer repair work at New York’s Penn Station and related service changes.
Starting Tuesday, transit customers who use the Morris-Essex Line were able to start buying discounted July monthly passes. The passes include the deeply discounted fares to Hoboken for Morris and Essex Midtown Direct customers.
Customers traveling to New York City via Hoboken cross-honoring options will see a savings of up to 63 percent off of their usual New York Penn Station fare.
NJ Transit has also updated its app and website to reflect the new summer schedules.
Information sessions will continue to be held, and NJ Transit ambassadors will be placed at several Morris and Essex stations, including in Summit, Morristown and East Orange, to help answer any questions.
NJ Transit will provide updated information as new details become available at njtransit.com/theupdate.
