6h agoA garbage truck struck a telephone pole, causing a diesel spill behind a strip mall in Matawan early Monday morning.
Police say the crash happened around 5:58 a.m. near 305 Broad Street.
The impact damaged the truck and led to about 10 gallons of diesel fuel leaking onto the property.
No injuries were reported.
The Matawan Fire Department and Monmouth County HAZMAT responded to contain the spill.
