United flight from Newark to Spain turns around after security concern
Passengers said the flight returned to Newark after no one claimed or turned off an active Bluetooth network with the concerning name.

A United flight from Newark to Spain was forced to turn around Saturday night after passengers reported seeing an active Bluetooth network titled “Bomb.”
People on board posted on social media that passengers were told multiple times to turn off the network, but no one did.
In an announcement heard on the plane, a crew member said, “We will be returning back to Newark because we have one passenger that seems to be making a funny joke that isn't so funny.”
The airline said, "United flight 236 from Newark to Palma De Mallorca, Spain safely returned to Newark to address a potential security concern."
TSA confirmed the flight was rescreened on its return to Newark and was met at the airport by law enforcement.
"The aircraft landed without incident, passengers disembarked and the aircraft was swept by Port Authority police, including K9 units. The sweep was negative and the aircraft was cleared. Passengers were rescreened by TSA and Customs and Border Patrol before resuming their flight," said a spokesperson for the Port Authority.
The Boeing 767 had 190 passengers and 12 crew members. Passengers got on a new flight Sunday.
