In response, the U.S. has announced new travel restrictions.
Officials say non-U.S. citizens who have recently traveled to Congo, Uganda or South Sudan will be temporarily barred from entering the country for 21 days.
One of those countries, Congo, has a team competing in the tournament.
Officials say the team has been cleared to play its scheduled match in Houston on June 17 against Portugal.
Health authorities say they are closely monitoring the situation as international travel increases.
