The 177th Fighter Wing and 108th Wing partnered in the nationwide Air Force Salutes Flyover for the event. The flyover featured three F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 177th Fighter Wing and a KC-135R Stratotanker from the 108th Wing.
The flyover started in Sea Girt around 11:30 a.m., then made its way over University Hospital in Newark and Bergen County College around 11:50 a.m. The jets then flew over Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital at 12:13 p.m. and finally to the Atlantic City area around 12:30 p.m.
It was back on April 28 when the state was treated to a Navy Blue Angels and Air Force Thunderbirds duel flyover to honor all the people working on the front lines.
