The owner of the New Jersey Devils is apologizing to two youth soccer teams after his helicopter landed on the field where they were going to play, forcing the game's cancellation.
Officials at St. Benedict's Prep in Newark let Devils owner Josh Harris and others use its field. They say that an apparent scheduling error was to blame for the conflict.
The helicopter was at the school Sunday night to pick up Harris after a Devils game at the Prudential Center that went into overtime.
Harris, who also owns the Philadelphia 76ers, says that he understands the frustration of the soccer players' families because he's also spent many hours watching his kids play sports.
He said Wednesday such a mix-up won't happen again and he will invite the teams and their families to be his guests at a Devils game.
