Despite the record high oil prices, gas prices in the Garden State have seemed to stay low in recent weeks.
According to NewJerseyGasPrices.com, three gas stations in South Jersey are selling regular gas at $2.47 a gallon, the lowest gas prices have been in weeks. A gallon of regular gas at rest stops along the Turnpike and Garden State Parkway are selling for a bit higher at $2.77, but still not as high as in recent months.
However, many residents are wondering how long the prices will stay that low. The price of a barrel of oil hit a record high at $78.40 Tuesday. Motorists say the gas prices have been more than $3 a gallon when a barrel of oil wasn?t nearly that high.
Most residents say they will enjoy the low gas prices for as long as they are around.
