? New Year?s Eve festivities were preceded by a messy water main break in Demarest Wednesday morning.
The break occurred just before 6 a.m., leaving some residents with mud in their driveways and ponds in their front yards.
?It looks like, what a good 2, 3 inches of mud?? asks resident Bill Lewis. ?It?s gotta be 4 to 6 inches at least on that part of the driveway. And you can tell it?s real heavy. It?s almost impossible to shovel.?
United Water sent in crews to fix the break and clean up the mud. It is not known how long that process will take. Although some residents are reporting low water pressure in the area, the water is still on. A boil water advisory has not been issued for the area.
