For the second time in about seven months, Jackson Township has recommended the closure and redistricting of a school and parents could find out what the plan will be as early as tonight.
Under the board's recommendation, Goetz Middle School would close.
Jackson Memorial High School would become a middle school, leaving the newer Jackson Liberty as the only high school.
The school superintendent says this is unavoidable after seven years of state budget cuts, adding the district only made budget this year by closing and selling Rosenauer Elementary, saving $13 million.
The decision will be made at a meeting tonight at Jackson Memorial High School.
