Despite filing for bankruptcy over the weekend, the parent company of Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson says none of its employees will be affected.
Six Flags Inc. announced over the weekend that it was seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in an effort to lighten a $2.4 billion debt load.
"[The bankruptcy] is strictly being handled by our New York parent company, through that office," says Mark Kane, president of Six Flags Great Adventure. "It's a balance-sheet issue, and it's going to have zero impact on park operations."
Six Flags says it had a great year in 2008, but that its debt load is unsustainable.
