According to authorities, they received a VHF radio call Saturday around 10 a.m. from a good Samaritan reporting an overturned 21-foot vessel in Raritan Bay and one person in the water.
Officials say the caller was able to recover the unresponsive person and began CPR. Coast Guard boat crews from Sandy Hook and New York were dispatched, and a vessel arrived and took the victim to Monmouth Cove Marina.
The Coast Guard said the individual was later pronounced dead by Monmouth County emergency medical services.
