Rock music legend David Crosby was in Asbury Park where a new documentary was shown about his decades in music, and the ups and downs of a life in music.

He spoke with News 12’s John Bathke on Saturday.

Crosby says he wanted the new documentary about him, produced by Oscar winner Cameron Crowe, to be an unvarnished look at his life.

"There are things I'm really proud of that I did. Created good art. And there are things I'm completely ashamed of, where I hurt somebody or did something really stupid," says Crosby.

The documentary called "Remember My Name" was screened for the public Saturday at the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival.

Crowe says he first met Crosby while working as a teenaged writer for Rolling Stone Magazine.

"I first met him when I was 15 and he was already the dream interview subject, the one person I wanted to interview," says Crowe.

Crosby is a founding member of Crosby, Stills and Nash and The Byrds – as well as a solo artist. He continues to perform and will hit the road on his next national tour beginning May 10.
