Current and former Yankee players took the stage for a special performance of “BatBoy” at Hostos Community College in efforts to raise money to strike out ALS on Thursday.
Bernie Williams, Mickey Rivers, Bucky Dent and current third basemen Gio Urshela joined actors in narrating a show about former Yankees bat boy Ray Negron during his time with the bombers in the 70’s.
Hundreds showed up to not only see these players but to also take a swing at acting.
ALS is the same disease that took the life of Yankee Lou Gehrig back in 1941.
Organizers told News 12 that the proceeds from the show will go to Dan Colon, a 52-year-old who is also currently battling ALS.
The event hit a home run in the hearts of fans, the players and Colon himself who received a special tribute during the performance.
