Despite resistance from Gov. Chris Christie, United Airlines is forging ahead with plans to operate flights out of Newark Liberty to Cuba.
The dispute revolves around fugitive Joanne Chesimard.
She was convicted of murdering a New Jersey State trooper in 1973 and then escaped from prison only to be granted asylum in Cuba.
Gov. Christie says flights to Cuba are unacceptable until Chesimard is extradited.
