A man is dead after a fire broke out in a Wyandanch home Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Suffolk fire officials say the call came in for a fire in a home on Cypress Street just before 2 p.m. Wyandanch Fire Department and four other departments responded. The street was blocked off along with Jefferson Avenue.

The man was found dead after crews extinguished the fire, according to authorities.

The scene was turned over to the fire marshal’s office and arson investigators near 4 p.m.

The identity of the victim will be determined by an autopsy performed by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical examiner.

Police say the victim was inside the home at the time of the fire.

There were no other injuries.

Detectives believe the cause of the fire was non-criminal in nature.
