A 349-ton barge that washed ashore in Bayonne over the weekend was finally removed early Thursday morning.
Great Lakes Dredge and Dock said crews pulled the barge back into the water and tugged it down Newark Bay.
The barge broke free Sunday during a storm, hit a pier at 16th Street Park and came to rest on shore near West 21st Street.
The company tried and failed to remove the grounded barge on Monday.
