Firefighters faced freezing temperatures while battling a large blaze in Edison Thursday.
The fire broke out in a home on Candy Court around 2:30 p.m. It took firefighters about an hour to get the blaze under control.
Crews set up tents and heaters in an effort to keep victims and firefighters warm while they were outside.
Onlookers say that they were worried about what firefighters had to deal with out in the elements.
"Those guys are brave," one neighbor said. "Thank God for the firefighters."
A person who lived at the home told News 12 New Jersey that everyone was able to get out of the fire safely and no one was seriously hurt.
The fire was contained to only one home. The cause was not immediately known.
