Comic Con is in full swing in New York City after being completely virtual last year due to the pandemic.
Fans excited about the in-person return couldn't wait to show off their best costumes.
A variety of characters showed up this year; the Ghostbusters got the call, SpongeBob delivered Krusty Krab pizza, and Robin was found hanging with Where's Waldo.
Superheroes descended from every universe with special appearances from pop culture's favorite movies and TV shows.
"This is a place where you can be yourself, nobody judges, nobody cares, we’re all here for a good time," said one Comic Con fan.
The cosplay on display for most characters didn't happen overnight. Jose Tirado, a father of two boys, told News 12 that it took his sons three to four months to create their Venom and Carnage costumes. He said, "It started with a bicycle helmet and kind of went from there they knew what they wanted to be."
Tirado says his sons have been attending Comic Con since they were babies.
Comic Con first-timer Jaida Skye paid tribute to the Marvel universe for helping her become a new fan. She said, "'WandaVision' was the first show for me to immerse myself into the Marvel universe, so I thought let me pay homage to her at Comic Con."
Comic Con continues through Sunday.
