As many residents are making their New Year?s resolutions, Gov. Jon Corzine is getting ready to announce some cuts to make up for 2009 budget shortfalls.
Corzine says the state budget is his number one priority of the new year. He is expected to announce what he calls ?spending adjustments? to make up for shrinking state tax dollars.
Officials say since unemployment is up in the state and less people are working, the state is collecting less in income tax.
Corzine says he will postpone delivering his annual budget address until March. He says the postponement is to see what kind of federal aid the state gets from the new Obama administration.
