Construction of the new Wawa store and service station in Ramsey is underway, but residents living in an apartment complex next to the site aren't happy.
The new location is at 966 Route 17 North, on the site of the Cury's Sporting Goods store.
Residents of the Bear's Cove senior condominium complex oppose the noise and smell they say the 24/7 construction causes, as well as the single entrance and exit access to the site located just before the entry road to their complex.
Hearings on the plan began back in 2013, and called for a 5,000-square-foot store, a canopied eight-pump, and 16-nozzle gas station.
The plan was initially rejected by the borough's Planning Board, but just almost a year later -- a judge overruled the planners.
It's unknown how long the construction is expected to last.
The mayor declined to comment on the issue.
