Connecticut adding additional rental vouchers to Head Start on Housing Program

One mother from Manchester said the vouches prevented her from becoming homeless. "My life, my son's life, everything has changed for the better. In August, it will be two years of us living in our home and it feels amazing," said Caitlin Crowe.

People who are attempting to find an affordable place to live in Connecticut will soon receive more help.

Gov. Ned Lamont announced Thursday 250 new rental vouchers will be available starting in July. The vouches will be open to families in the Head Start and Early Head Start school programs.

One mother from Manchester said the vouches prevented her from becoming homeless.

"My life, my son's life, everything has changed for the better. In August, it will be two years of us living in our home and it feels amazing," said Caitlin Crowe.

The Head Start on Housing Program will also receive $750,000 to process vouchers.
