City of Clifton officials have proposed a nuisance ordinance that would make dog owners responsible if their dogs bark continuously. The city's manager says a dog barking for a half-hour a day for two to three days could be considered a violation. As far as enforcing the law, the city says it will rely on residents to file complaints and bear the burden of proof.
The Clifton City Council will vote on the ordinance next week. If adopted, dog owners could face between $250 and $2,000 in fines.
