The man who tried to intervene during a fatal confrontation at St. Thomas Knanaya Church in Clifton last week was honored by friends and family in that very church Saturday afternoon.
Dennis Malloosseril was trying to end a confrontation between accused gunman Joseph Pallipurath and his wife, Reshma James, in a church hallway. Pallipurath allegedly opened fire, killing Malloosseril and James, and seriously injuring Silvy Perincheril, who remains in a coma.
?He was always a nice guy, he'd do anything for his friends and family,? says friend Kalpan Doshi. ?He stepped in to help someone out and it was a tragedy what happened."Mallooseril died just two days shy of his 26th birthday. He is survived by his parents and sister Lois.
The alleged gunman was arrested in Georgia and is expected to be back in New Jersey sometime next week.
