? Former federal prosecutor Christopher Christie formally entered the New Jersey gubernatorial race in Newark Wednesday with the start of a two-day campaign rollout.
Christie, a Republican, told about 200 supporters at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center that he plans to cut taxes, limit spending and curb borrowing. He said he has a four-year plan to bring opportunities to the state.
Christie?s rollout included diner stops in Hamilton and Westville.
The stage is now set for a June primary showdown between Christie and three other Republican candidates. Whoever wins the primary will go up against incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine (D).
