Christians across New Jersey participated in Easter services Sunday morning to mark the resurrection of Jesus.
News 12 New Jersey’s Alex Zdan attended several worship services in Newark.
“Easter Sunday is the most holy of all the days for Catholics,” says Miriam Zinter, of Rochester. “So, it's not Christmas, it's Easter because Jesus is risen.”
From smaller neighborhood churches like Christian Church of Israel by Faith to the fifth largest sanctuary in North America, Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, families shared in the holiest day on the Christian calendar.
Many sermons ended with attendees participating in Easter egg hunts or heading home for food and time together as part of the Easter holiday tradition.
