A southern New Jersey school teacher has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of an underage student, state police said Tuesday.
New Jersey state police said Brian McSee, 53, of Port Republic, is charged with aggravated sexual assault, official misconduct, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities said a week-long investigation revealed that McSee was the alleged victim’s seventh and eighth-grade choir teacher at Port Republic Elementary School, as well as the choir director at the victim’s parish, St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Detectives said they determined that McSee allegedly sexually assaulted the juvenile victim twice a week for the past three years.
Police said McSee turned himself in on Dec. 13 and was arrested without incident. He was lodged in Atlantic County Jail, pending a mandatory court appearance.
Anyone with information regarding inappropriate behavior or interactions involving McSee are asked to contact the Tuckerton Station Detective Bureau at 609-296-5807.
