An 8-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Thursday after nearly drowning in a pool at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades community center in Tenafly.
Tenafly police say that the boy was pulled from the pool around 3:45 p.m. A lifeguard began to administer CPR before emergency services arrived.
The 8-year-old was taken to Englewood Hospital Medical Center and then transferred to Hackensack University Medical Center. The condition of the child was not immediately known.
The facility's chief operating officer could not provide any details about the incident, but told News 12 New Jersey that she hopes and wishes that the child is doing well.
Authorities didn't immediately identify the boy.
