Santa Claus and his elves walked through the halls of P.S. 811X today to pass out some toys.
Dressed up volunteers handed out more than 3,000 toys and 80 coats to special needs students at the Morrisania school. The jolly do-gooders, who donated all the presents themselves, are members of both The Sons of Italy and the Bronx Rotary Club.
They say they do this to help make the holiday season special and change the lives of the children, who struggle with learning and mental disabilities.
This is the group's second year in a row at P.S. 811X, but they have been donating across the Bronx for the last six years. They also helped raise nearly $11,000 through contributions and donations, which will go to students with special needs throughout the borough.
