Deceased military veterans were honored in Central Jersey Thursday afternoon.
A procession of family members who lost their loved ones in war drove from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office in Freehold to a cemetery in Wrightstown. The cremated remains of 21 veterans will be interred there.
The service was made possible thanks to the organization Vietnam Veterans of America.
The organization says countless funeral homes across the United States have unclaimed cremains of veterans.
