A Bergen County food bank says that they received the largest food donation in recent memory, all from an anonymous donor.
The staff at the Center for Food Action in Englewood says a little more than 20,000 pounds of food was donated to the shelter. They say it came in the largest tractor-trailer they have ever seen.
Regional Manager Jim James says the donation comes at a time when many are in need.
"There were some people who used to donate to us that we now see are clients," he says. "It's very unfortunate. All they need to do is lose their employment and the need grows."
The Center for Food Action will be collecting Thanksgiving dinner items on Nov. 20 and 21.
Anyone who would like to donate items can find more information on their
website.
