The Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting a
second probable case of monkeypox in New Jersey.
But it’s not
known where the person with the new case is located.
It comes as
the
CDC has opened an
emergency center in response to the outbreak, which will be used to deal with
the outbreak response from the government, as well as nongovernment
agencies' response.
The facility was already supporting the CDC’s
reaction to the pandemic. It’s also where experts monitor other public health
emergencies, such as hurricanes, earthquakes and oil spills.
Health officials are also
expanding the group of people recommended to get vaccinated against the virus.
