Police in Tinton Falls say a camp counselor accused of inappropriately touching children has admitted to downloading child pornography.
James Paroline, 26, is a teacher at a nursery school in Monmouth County, as well as a summer camp counselor at the prestigious Ranney School in Tinton Falls. The school is known for teaching many of the children of local celebrities and lawmakers.
Dr. John Griffith, headmaster of the Ranney School, says Paroline was fired following his arrest.
"We are shocked, upset, and disheartened by the charges. The counselor has undergone annual background checks and there was never a complaint about him during his tenure," Dr. Griffith said in a statement to News 12 New Jersey.
Dr. Griffith says law enforcement officials have not released to the school how many children may have been affected.
