Some residents in Throgs Neck are calling on the Department of Transportation to put an all-way stop sign at an intersection they say is dangerous.
Neighbors say the intersection of Balcom and Sampson avenues is like a highway running through a residential area. They add that cars constantly speed down the street filled with elderly people and children.
Residents say installing a stop sign will force vehicles to slow down to let pedestrians cross the street safely. State Sen. Jeff Klein has written a letter to the DOT's Bronx borough commissioner requesting a stop sign.
