Brush fire burns 59 acres of land in Edison, causing smoky conditions

A large brush fire in Middlesex County burned nearly 60 acres of land and created smoky conditions for those in the area.

A large brush fire in Middlesex County burned nearly 60 acres of land and created smoky conditions for those in the area.
The fire was first reported near Meadow Road in Edison Tuesday afternoon. The Edison Fire Department and the New Jersey Forest Fire Service came out to battle the flames.
Smoke could be seen for miles while the fire burned
The fire was 100% contained by 6 p.m. Officials say that 59 acres were burned.
Forest fire officials will remain on the scene to make sure the fire does not spark out of control.
No injuries were reported.
