Bruce Springsteen receives National Medal of Arts at the White House

Bruce Springsteen may be on a world tour but even he stops what he's doing to make time for the president. President Joe Biden honored Springsteen on Tuesday with the National Medal of Arts, the nation's highest award for advancing the arts in America.
Springsteen, who grew up in Freehold and currently lives in Colts Neck, was introduced at the ceremony as one of our greatest performers who “captures the unyielding spirit of what it means to be American.”
Springsteen’s public relations representative told News 12 New Jersey that he is extremely happy about getting this award. He's among about a dozen individuals that Biden chose to receive the National Medal of Arts. Also included on the list are Gladys Knight, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Mindy Kaling.
