A Brooklyn man was sentenced to 17 years in prison for shooting another man while at a recording studio in Manhattan in March 2024.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg says 26-year-old Zykil Adamson stole an imitation pistol from the victim at the studio.

When the man demanded Adamson return the pistol, Adamson showed up in the middle of the night and shot him in the head while he slept.

Prosecutors say the man will be paralyzed for the rest of his life.
