A Bronx foster mother has now hired a lawyer to help her fight to get back the children she wanted to adopt.
Aida Colon says her friend from Oklahoma requested Colon be a foster mother to her four children and eventually the adoptive mother. However, according to Colon, child services in Oklahoma mishandled the case and she was forced to give up the children. Administration for Children?s Services (ACS) caseworkers in New York, accompanied by police officers, came to take the children into custody Wednesday.
Colon has hired a lawyer from Oklahoma to help her fight to keep the children. Colon?s lawyer also believes the case was mishandled by child welfare in Oklahoma. A court hearing will be held July 7 to determine what is in the best interest of the children.
