A Bronx teen was sentenced Wednesday for assaulting a man who later died from his injuries.
Elijah Burt, 17, will finish out a five-month prison term. He was sentenced for the assault of 60-year-old Idelfonso Romero.
Police say two teens were fighting in front of the Romero home in June when Burt punched Romero. Romero fell back, hit his head and later died from the injury.
The Romero family expressed their grievances with the ruling, saying they feel angry and hurt.
The Romero family tells News 12 that they still get taunted by Burt's friends. They say they plan to discuss taking the case to a higher court.
