Many Bronx parents are scrambling to get school supplies and uniforms in time for the first day of school.
While uniforms used to be only for private school students, more and more public and charter schools have adopted uniforms as part of their dress code.
Angel Oliver who runs the clothing store Kids' Place says each child should have a week's worth of uniforms.
He says having at least five or six pants and shirts help kids make it through the week before parents have to do laundry.
