The Bronx Bible Church may have to shut down by the end of the year due to a new law banning worship in public schools and city-owned community centers.
The congregation is housed at the Sotomayor Community Center and has only been open for three months. Pastor Ed Rumley says parishioners who are unable to make the trip to the church's second location have come to depend on it.
The church now has until Dec. 31 to work out a deal with the city Housing Authority. The Bronx Household of Faith was already kicked out of P.S. 15 earlier this month because of the restriction.
