Bridgewater fire officials seek driver accused of running over, damaging hose during fire
Officials say the driver ignored firefighters’ warnings, drove over a pressurized hose and caused more than $2,000 in damage while crews battled an Oak Street fire.

Fire officials in Bridgewater are asking for the public’s help identifying a driver they say ignored firefighters’ warnings and damaged a fire hose while crews battled a house fire.
The incident happened during an Aug. 20 structure fire at a home on Oak Street, according to the Bridgewater Fire District 2 Board of Fire Commissioners.
Officials said the driver went through the emergency scene despite warnings to stop and drove over a pressurized fire hose. The vehicle became stuck on the hose, and the driver allegedly rocked it back and forth to get free.
The fire district said the incident caused more than $2,000 in damage to hoses and couplings. Officials said the hose did not suffer a catastrophic failure, which they said could have injured or killed the driver, firefighters or bystanders.
Firefighters were focused on battling the house fire and were unable to identify the vehicle, according to the board.
The district said it is seeking restitution for the damaged equipment.
