Bound Brook business owners along with Chamber of Commerce members met Friday to devise a plan of attack for picking up the pieces in the wake of a recent nor'easter.
For one business owner, the nor?easter caused the fifth flood he?s seen and the second worst he?s witnessed when it comes to damage to his store. Anthony Pranzatelli says while he has flood insurance, there is some stress involved in the clean up and the losses to his business.
Chamber members discussed concerns and resources available to businesses after flooding. Some of the concerns included debris pick-up and bringing people back to the downtown area.
?The emergency has been declared so federal agents can come in and assist. FEMA is here already; they?ve started the process,? said Councilman Jim Lefkowitz.
Many business owners say they do plan to stick around. Most are waiting for the promised federal dollars that are supposed to build the last of three levees near the Raritan River.
