Work on the last in a series of flood walls is slowly nearing completion a decade after Tropical Storm Floyd buried the community under 10 feet of water.
Construction is expected to wrap up in 2011. The project was first proposed in 1973.
While Mayor Carey Pilato says he's amazed at the progress, some in Bound Brook are amazed that work isn't complete 35 years later. And there's still more to go.
"It's almost a joke that they're moving that slowly," says resident Marie Cassebaum.
