Rocker Jon Bon Jovi says a man from East Brunswick gave his energy drink a bad name.
Bon Jovi, of Middletown, feels the energy drink name, Mijovi, infringes on his trademark. The rocker is now suing the Mijovi Company over the name.
A letter sent by Bon Jovi?s attorney to the company also objects to the phrases ?itsmijovi? and ?itsmilife.? ?It?s My Life? is the title of a Bon Jovi hit song.
The founder of Mijovi, Marco Carrington, told News 12 New Jersey that ?changing the name is not an option. The name means something to me. We?ve invested a lot of money in it.? Carrington also insists Mijovi was inspired by his girlfriend, Jovita Saenz.
Bon Jovi?s attorney plans to block Carrington?s trademark application.
