Bloomfield police beefed up patrols Monday after at least 17 cars were vandalized overnight.
Police say vandals smashed the windows of cars on Morris Place and the surrounding streets between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 3 a.m. Monday. Witnesses told police they saw three teens in a car. The witnesses say they saw one of the teens leaning out of the passenger window with a hammer smashing the cars.
Residents say the incident is very upsetting and scary. Police say the teens were driving around in either a dark-colored Mustang or Honda. Anyone with information on the vandalism is asked to call police.
